Actually its more like 30 minutes at Chinguacousy Park in Brampton...
... temp was in the high of 34C, but it feels like its in the 40s... spent 20 minutes walking around the park to take pictures... and another 10 minutes in the playground... and we were all ready to go home!
I met hubby back in college and we became instant friends. When he first profess his love for me, I had to turn him down due to our cultural differences. Yet we remain best of friends and moved on with our lives. We were there for each other's graduation day! That's how special we were/are for one another. Months later, a broken heart brought us back together and I was faced with a new dilemna as I see myself falling in love with him.
I made the decision to distance myself by trying my luck in the States. A "talk" with an ex-friend in the States changed my outlook in life! You can say that during those brief 4 months in the States, I came home a new person, with a new outlook and knowing what I want. And then I ask for a sign from GOD.
Our relationship then had been thru a lot of roller coaster ride. And it's not because of the two of us, we get along just fine... but because of those around us. It was the toughest decision I had to make in my entire life... and despite hurting those that I love, I believe and I know I made the right decision.
I don't believe much in "soul mates" but 37 years ago (today) my better half and the father of my kids was born... It wasn't love at first sight... It was a friendship that developed to a lasting relationship. It was a relationship full of love, trust and honesty... And the day we say "I do", I know that he loves more than I love him.

Friday - June 17
My MIL arrived and we just can't believe that her direct flight from Beijing to Toronto is just 13 hours! And here I am thinking of taking Viarail (train) to NY for the summer with the kids. This trip is also 13 hours long!
My kids were so happy and excited to see their Lola (grandma), because Lola always got lots of stuff for them!
Saturday - June 18
Today was the last day of my son's tae kwon do class. And upon his request, we had lunch at Applebee's.
Then went straight to a warehouse of beddings and home furnishings. Everything is on sale and it is really really cheap. It's nice to go shopping with my MIL, because she paid for everything! Thanks Mom! :-)
Sunday - June 19
We attended the 9 am mass... and to celebrate Father's day, we had lunch at Red Lobsters. Really the best value for your money! The only way to avoid the crowd is to be there at the time the establishment opens. Yup, we were their first customer for the day. And as we headed out after our delicious meal, I heard the host saying that the waiting time is 1 to 1.5 hours.
We also pass by the bank machine, and my son, after counting his Lola's money, said "Lola don't waste all your money on shopping... I don't want to go shopping." Still, we stop by this Liquidation center and did a little shopping... but when he saw that beside the Liquidation center is Toys R Us, he said "this is where the money goes. Lola, let's go shopping now."
After putting the kids to bed at 8:30pm, Hubby and I sneak out to catch the last show of Mr. and Mrs. Smith in the big theater... Would you believe that the last movie we watched on the big screen was Matrix 3 (in 2003)? My MIL was also here at that time. Back in the Philippines, hubby and I were always updated with the recent movies. Here, we only get to go to the theater when my MIL is visiting.
Monday - June 20
MIL left for NY to visit my SIL and family. She'll be back on sunday in time to celebrate hubby's birthday. It's a good thing she's already in NY when the limo drivers decided to strike.

Ever since we live in a single income, everything has to be on the budget... we need to space out things that we buy... and no matter how tight the budget is, I still manage to squeeze in about $5-15 a month for my passion which is now more on scrapbooking. I am not very "creative" like the ones I see on the web, but I try to be (a copycat)... ",)
Whenever hubby sees me down on the carpet organizing pictures, he would ask "I thought we don't have money anymore, where did that come from?" And I would just grin at him. It is amazing how time flies when I am down on the carpet...
Last night, as I was blog hopping, I came across this blog and scrapbooking tips. So what have I been doing wrong? Well, scrapbook albums and materials are really expensive, so I try to squeeze in as much pictures as I could in one page, which tend to make it just a little crowded. The best way of doing it is to keep it simple.
It's a good thing I am not into online shopping, otherwise, I would be spending more since there's lots of online shops that sells a huge variety of scrapbook materials. Believe me, it is very very tempting! ",)

We went on a road trip to Eugenia Falls and Lake in South Grey County, about 1.5 hours drive.
~ SUNDAY, June 5 ~
was spent in Cherry Beach in downtown Toronto. Imagination run wild when my kids decided to make a small pool by the sand, surrounded by rocks and fills them with water.
A couple sitting in a park car facing the beach front were observing my kids. During one of my trips back to the car to get some things, the lady said to me: "you have a lovely family. your daughter seems to be copying her brother but she has a mind of her own." -- she was referring to the fact that my son started something on the sand, but then my daughter decided to do one on her own (the small pool), and since she has the pail, my son ended up joining her. :-)
~ GREATEST FEAR ~
My greatest fear was cutting my fingers off while chopping onions or garlic or any type of meat... and it "almost" happened while chopping some onions. I cut through my middle finger and it was quite deep and it hurt a lot too. I feel a little numbness in the left arm for a few minutes after that... It's a good thing I didn't cut it all the way... :-( oh, I can't imagine what it would feel like if that happened (shrivering)...
Extra money, extra "unforseen" expenses???
Have you ever wonder why whenever you have extra money, something will go wrong and you end up spending it?
The extra money I was referring to was the money I earned during my 3- month contract job. And let me tell you... it was like my vacuum cleaner and sunglasses knows that I have the money to replace them and they decided to retire! So I ended up buying a new vacuum cleaner for $130 and a new (prescription) sunglasses for $200... I cannot live without both of them. Also I needed to replace my son's eyeglasses as his prescription has change. And even though the optical store has the "buy 1 get 1 free" offer, I still spent $184 for his (2 pairs) eyeglasses.
That's already 3, so what's next??? My cellphone decided to retire too... although I've been wanting to get a new cellphone, I kept on postponing it as I don't really need a new one... but now I have to get one. And this is gonna cost me another $160 for a Nokia 6010.
Moping the traditional way?
How do you clean your floors? I tried swifter wetjet, its convenient - all you need is the power mop ($27+), the solution ($4+ average/month) and disposable pads ($9+ for 12 pcs) ... no need to wait for the floor to dry... no need for a bucket... quite easy? yes. but does it really clean? NOPE! it's a waste of money!
Next, I tried another similar product for a one-time cost of $35+, but this one doesn't need any solution nor disposable pads, quite a savings indeed if you think about it. All you need is a little water and mop away, after that you can just throw the pad in the washing machine and reuse it... I saw the demonstration and was really impressed. But then, the different tiles they used for the demonstration is not the same tiles we have at home... again easy? yes. but does it actually clean? yes, but still not as clean as I wanted it to be. But definitely better than the wetjet.
So what's the best way to clean the floors? The best way is still the traditional way of a bucket of warm water with soap and a mop! A lot of work, but definitely worth doing if you really want a clean and shiny floor. ",)
