Movie Marathon

Despite all that, hubby and I still manage to squeeze in our movie time at home... here's what we've seen the past 2 weeks:

  1. Ocean's Twelve: quite disappointing actually considering that its an all star cast movie. Though I love Ocean's Eleven.

Danny Ocean rounds up his gang of specialists for more heists but while the group attempts to steal various items from three seperate countries in Europe, their last victim - casino owner Terry Benedict - is planning his revenge.

  2. Flight Plan: two thumbs up! love everything about this movie!

In a cavernous, state-of-the-art 474 aircraft, Kyle Pratt faces every mother's worst nightmare when her six year-old daughter, Julia, vanishes without a trace mid-flight from Berlin to New York. Already emotionally devasted by the unexpected death of her husband, Kyle desperately struggles to prove her sanity to the disbelieving flight crew and passengers while facing the very real possibility that she may be losing her mind. While neither Captain Rich, nor Air Marshal Gene Carson want to doubt the bereaved widow, all evidence indicates that her daughter was never on board resulting in paranoia and doubt among the passengers and crew of the plane. Finding herself desperately along, Kyle can only rely on her own wits to solve the mystery and save her daughter.

  3. Daredevil: another disappointing movie. quite unrealistic. nothing extraordinary.

Danny Ocean rounds up his gang of specialists for more heists but while the group attempts to steal various items from three seperate countries in Europe, their last victim - casino owner Terry Benedict - is planning his revenge.

  4. Aeonflux: another disappointing movie.

400 years in the future, disease has wiped out the majority of the earth's population except for one walled protected city, ruled by a congress of scientists, known as Bregna. Undermining the city-state is the underground 'Monican' rebellion - led by The Handler, for which Aeon Flux is the top operative. When Aeon is sent on a mission to kill a government leader, she uncovers a world of secrets.

  5. Hitch: hilarious! I'm not a fan of Will Smith, but this one is really good.

Meet Hitch, New York City's greatest matchmaker. Love is his job and he'll get you the girl of your dreams in just three easy dates, guaranteed! And that's exactly what happens when Albert Brennaman wins the heart.

  6. Red Eye: I give this a 5-star considering that I don't know any of the actors in the movie! great plot. seat-clutching suspense. highly recommended!

Moments after takeoff, passenger Lisa Reisert's seat-mate, Jackson, menacingly reveals the real reason he's on board: He is an operative in a plot to kill the Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security...

  7. Lord of War: not really my type of movie... I didn't even bother to finish watching it but hubby said he liked it.

Chance leads Yuri Orlov to realize his true calling - illegal arms dealing. With his brother in tow, Yuri exploits the deadliest war zones, staying one step ahead of his conscience, his competition, his dangerous...

Wow! from your busy work and house chores schedules, you still can squeeze out some time? unbelievable!

For the movies you mentioned, I had watched the following in order, Daredevil, Hitch, Red-eye and Flight Plan. The first 3 are from the movie theatre, the last one was in DVD.

The stars in Red-eye are considered famous, the lady starred in Wedding Crusher and the villain guy appear in most recent Batman Begins, he plays the scarecrow.

NOTE: Below comments has some spoiler.

Flight Plan, I think the story line has some loop holes, how could it be possible that no one could saw the girl being taken away.

I agree with you, I love Hitch too but no offense, I don't like the leading actress (Will Smith's love interest). As for Daredevil, for me, it was good, atleast better than Hulk.

Have you watched the "Brokeback Mountain"? I was wondering was it really that good or it's just because it is a movie about gay, and it's just kinda a breakthrough in Hollywood cinema, that's why it earned a lot of award?

Hi Lam,

naiwan lahat ng housechores... but not movie time with hubby... hehehe...

last night, we watched Birth with Nicole Kidman... so boring... no sense actually...

imagine, the mother of the 10 year old would allow his son to live with a stranger??? and what about the bathtub and the kissing scenes (between Nicole and the 10 year old boy)??? they shouldn't allow those scenes in the movie.

no wonder kids here are sexually active in their teenage years! the movies have a lot of influence on them!

Hi Lam,

I have no plans of watching brokeback mountain.

the red eye casts, I honestly dont know who they are... hehehe... sobra na akong naiwanan ng panahon.

just got all these dvds from a friend when we visited them... hence the marathon.

I love Rachel McAdams. Aside from Red Eye, she did The Notebook. If you haven't watch the latter yet, you should. And do you know that she is canadian and she lives in toronto with her on-and-off screen guy, Ryan Gosling (a canadian as well)? I think, for a movie done for the most part in a plane, Red Eye did better than Flightplan.

oh jo! i read your response to kevin. sorry for intruding. i didn't even bother to watch Birth because way before it was released, it had received intriguing and unpleasant reviews. no matter how important that kissing scene is, as the production of the movie implied, i still think it will be uncomfortable to watch such a scene.

Hi Evi,

I honestly don't have any idea about the movie Birth... hubby just borrowed it from the library...

you're right, it was uncomfortable watching the kissing and bathtub scene.

Napanood ko na yan.

Panuurin mo ang DERAILED, maganda rin yan, parang Flight Plan, di mo mahulaan ang ending.

JO said...

Hi Duke!

Kakaantok kasi ang mga documentary/narrative type of movie.

Hi Toni!

Maganda din naman ang Ocean's Twelve, kaya lang disappointing kasi nga all star cast tapos ganoon lang??? ",)

Hi Ethel,

if not for a friend of mine who had a lot of dvd collections, siguro parehas tayo. mga cartoons lang din because of my kids.

Hi Raquel,

Derailed is in my list too, wala pa lang akong mahiraman. ",)
