My daughter has always been excited about losing a tooth so she can get some change from the Tooth Fairy like her brother.
She lost her tooth last wednesday and silly me, I totally forgot about it... so the next morning:
PATRICIA: [with a sad look on her face and in her voice] "Why didn't the Tooth Fairy come, mommy?"
ME: "I don't know. Maybe a lot of kids lost their tooth and she didn't have enough time to drop by last night."
PATRICIA: "ok"
ME: [feeling sorry for her] "maybe she will come by tonight."
That cheer her up... but her brother had to say something about it:
PATRICK: "No, she won't come anymore, because she only come on the first day."
PATRICIA: "Is that true, mommy?" [again the sad face]
ME: "Don't worry, I'm sure she will stop by tonight." [silently reminding myself not to forget again]
The next day, there was a smile on her face when she saw the $2 under her pillow.

when my kids first lost their baby tooth, they were wondering if the tooth fairy would come and visit them, darn Mommy, i was not even game to play along
My daughter asked me also about that tooth fairy, pero sabi ko di naman totoo. Kaya yung mga sumunod di na naghahanap.

Hi Girlie,
May teenager ka na pala... maybe you can be the tooth fairy of your grandkids na lang in the future... ",)
Hi Ann,
Puwede pang mabuhay si Tooth Fairy kay Josh?
Hi Ghee,
Naku, kailangan papuntahin na si Tooth Fairy sa Japan. ",) Or para na lang sa apo mo! dalaga na din kasi ang anak mo eh.
Hi Pao, Mmy-Lei, Evi and Bugsy!
Haven't heard about this tooth fairy. Ibig sabihin bigyan natin sila ng pera?
Hi Raquel,
Typically, upon losing a tooth the child places the tooth under his or her pillow before going to sleep. In the morning the child finds a coin, small banknote, or a present in the place of the tooth. In reality this is done by the child's parents or guardians.
wow! tooth fairy! reminds me of my childhood days... :)
