Thursday Thirteen #4: 13 State in 13 years

At first I thought that joining the TT group would be fun... It is fun! But coming up with TT list every week is not as easy as I thought it would be. I guess it is because my memory is a bit rusty.

Thirteen out of 50 State
that I've visited in the USA in the span of 13 years!

  1. Grand Canyon, Arizona, 1993
[The most amazing sight I've ever seen! I would love to take hubby and the kids there someday.]
  2. Las Vegas, Nevada, 1993
[The city that comes alive at night... I also love the illuminating lights!]
  3. Portland, Maine, 1993
[I was supposed to try my first hot air balloon ride here. I am willing to pay $150 (if I remember correctly) for this ride. But due to fog, we didn't take off... hmp! I haven't had a chance to try it again.]
  4. Stamford/Hartford/Fairfield, Connecticut, 1993 and 2006
[I live in Stamford for 3 months while I was in the process of self-discovery. And I did find myself and the love of my life!]
  5. Baltimore, Maryland, 1993
[My first attempt at long driving from Stamford, CT with a friend from high school.]
  6. Providence, Rhode Island, 1993
[I don't have any pictures of this place, hence, I can't remember what I saw. Tsk tsk tsk!]
  7. Chicago, Illinois, 1999
[Hubby and I visited a lot of museums (for free) here... not really what I wanted to do in Chicago, but its what hubby wants.]
  8. Boston, Massachusetts, 1999
[Hubby and I met some old college friends here.]
  9. San Francisco/Los Angeles/San Diego, California, 1993 and 1999
[I have so many wonderful memories in these cities.]
  10. Orlando and Tampa, Florida, 1999 and 2004
[What can I say, we love theme parks and we love Mickey! Except for the heat, I wouldn't mind making this our vacation home.]
  11. Washington, District of Columbia, 1993 and 2006
    [A family get-together with my in-laws.]
  12. Atlantic City/Cape May/Wildwood, New Jersey, 1993 and 2006
[Another family get-together with my in-laws.]

    lastly,

  13. New York City and Oakland Garden, New York
[We drove to NY 1-3 times a year (for the past 5 years) since my SIL and her family lives there. The only family we have in North America.]

I've hardly been anywhere! I haven't even been out of state in 5 years!

Nice trips weren't it ? I also travelled a lot through the States and were in all these places but not in Maine, Connecticut, Maryland and Massachusets. But I could add, Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore, Utah and Arizona.

Happy TT

I am not sure how many states I've been. I'll probably have to count the airport stop-over to come up with 13!

You have seen some wonderful places!

Great list!

Lucky! I've hardly been anywhere... Sydney, Adelaide, Queensland, Fiji. I hope to get to America (esp. the Carolinas and NY and Boston and Las Vegas and LA - shame some are one one side of the country and some on the other!), Africa, UK, Europe.

I've barely been out of the PA area in my 32 years. I love Atlantic City though. I try to get there at least once a year.

Happy TT and thanks for visiting my blog

Hi Cheryl,

Hi Gattina,
That's our family, we all love to travel!

Hi Shoshana,
I can't believe it myself until I started counting.

Hi Chelle,
Thanks!

JO said...

Hi Kristarella,
I hope to get a chance to visit Australia too!

Thanks Suki and Andrea!

Hi Fenny,

Hi Caylynn,
Grand Canyon is truly a wonderful work of Mother Nature!

Hi Hails,
I would love to visit Australia.

Hi Faith,
I want to see you list, hopefully in your next T13?

Hi Carmen,
Did you cover more than 50% of the map?

It's a good list! Coming up with TT topics can be hard, I know. I'm always jotting them down someplace if one comes to mind when I'm not at my computer so I'll have one when I need it.

Happy TT

I actually joined the Christian TT group using my christian blog pero ang tagal ng hindi na update.

Well, you have travelled everywhere Jo. I must say you have adventurous family. I noticed you have families/relatives in the states. That makes it easy to travel in the US. Right?
I have been to only 3 State actually 2. I don't think Buffallo is a state . I have been to Chicago for my PILs friend's wedding just for the weekend. Also, I have been to Ohio for camping. That's about it.

I live in Europe but have visited #1 #2 #9 and #10. I'd like to travel more, but it's finding the time nowadays.

Hi Sadie,
Coming up with titles is not that hard, but listing down 13 items for that title can be hard and time consuming (at least for me).

Hi Agring,
Buffalo is part of the New York state, so you've been to 3 state already.

Hi Mandy,
I would love to see Europe too... hopefully in this lifetime of mine... hehehe.

I've found that coming up with 13th gets harder each week! I'm amazed at the folks who do it for months!

WOW! You've travelled a bunch. Isn't it FUN? We're an Army family, 10 addresses in 15 years, and then some moving around in between. I LOVE seeing new places and people. ;)

I've posted my Thursday Thirteen, too. Enjoy!

Candy Minx said...

Hi Cheysuli,
Very true. I may give up soon... hehehe.

Hi Chaotic Mom,
Wow! 10 addresses in 15 years? I don't think I could survive that kind of a lifestyle... it is so hard to move!

Hi Candy Minx,
Wish I could add more state to my list!

I have been to and through a few states. I think we overlap on just a couple. Great list. I love traveling and wish I had more time to do it.

If you get a chance stop by my Thursday Thirteen If I had an iPod Disco Edition

Did you enjoy Baltimore? That's near my neck of the woods. Not nearly as cosmopolitan as DC, but love some of its smaller funkier communities.

Raquel said...

Grabe, grabe dami nyo ng narating, kakainggit, hehehe.

I'll see to it at 12am Thursday I will stay on your blog for the TT, hehehe.

JO said...

Hi Dane,
I feel like I'm the only one without an Ipod. ",)

Hi Paula,
Baltimore is nice, quiet and peaceful... though I've only spend 1 day there more than 13 years ago. I'm sure there's a lot of changes since then.

Hi Raquel,
It's not easy coming up with a TT list...

I've been to NYC, Orlando, and DC. The husband's family lives in Maine, at least a few of them anyway, so I hope to visit there one day.

I would love to go on a hot air balloon ride, though I'm deathly afraid of heights!

Janean said...

I have never been to the US at all. LOL!

Anyway, I'd love to visit the Grand Canyon one day and see Mt. Rushmore. NY and CA would be lovely to see as well. There are so many sights in the US that I'd like to see if only I'll be given the opportunity.

I'd also love to tour the Philippines. It's just sad that I'm Pinoy yet it's more expensive to travel outside the Philippines than to go to Singapore, Hongkong or any other Asian countries. Kakaloka!

Thanks for sharing your travels with us!

JO said...

Hi Meeya,

Hi Liz,
You can try to apply for a US visa when you visit Toronto. Tuloy ka na ba dito?
