My cook

One day, my son suddenly told me that he wants to cook mash potatoes for his dad. I said ok, we'll do it on a Friday. He said "I want to do it every Friday."

Here's the first and only one so far -- Mashed Potatoes

Here he is peeling off the skins...
he had a hard time doing this part.

Making sure that the potatoes are smashed properly...

This Friday he wants to bake mini cheese cakes... well we need a blender for that and I don't have a blender yet.

Hi Girlie, Francesca and Dangkin,

Thanks! Patrick actually had cooking lessons already at the community center when he was 6 or 7.

How sweet of Patrick! Isn't it wonderful when kids give special gifts that they themselves made - talagang pinaghirapan!

you have a budding wolgang puck or tyler florence over there... get the blender! :)

How nice! It's really heartwarming when kids show interest in cooking. Yohan, my 3-yr old loves helping his Dad bake. Simple things like adding ingredients in the bowl mean so much to him and I'm thankful that his Dad is very patient with him.

Thanks for sharing. I'm sure the mashed potatoes tasted great. Good luck on your young chef's next menu.

Thanks for dropping by earlier.

Hi Evi,
Thanks! Does Axel help out in the kitchen too?

Hi Bugsy,
Yup, it tasted good! Happy naman ang daddy niya.

Hi Tani,
Yes, will be buying the blender soon...

Hi Rach,
My daughter also enjoyed just stirring the stew or soup... or beating the eggs...

good thing that your son got interested in the kitchen, give him the best shot... unlike me, it's kinda weird when i told my mom that i wanted to bake some cookies and she just laugh at me... :(

Oi ang sweet naman ni Patrick, he wants to cook something for his dad. mashed potato is a good start for him to practice cooking. Then, he wants to cook cheese cakes next. It's a good sign he is interested in cooking.

Btw, I like your kitchen.

Hi Ann,
Nakakatuwa nga eh, I think it started because of his Advent in school last December. I'm glad he is now in a Catholic School.

Hi Mmy-Lei,
Today, he washed the utensils! Happy siya na marunong na siya.

Hi Raquel,
Thanks! I like our kitchen too... lots of cabinets and a huge counter.

Hi Junnie,
Yup, paiba iba nga ang gustong gawin. ",)

wow Jo!

a chef in the making...you got a very sweet son. Kakatuwa naman knowing that he's really the one asking for it. Yung iba you have to bribe them pa just to do something like that :)

Saan na portion ko sa niluto ni great chef... katagal naman, hehe. Gutoms na ako!

Christine said...

katuwa naman, your son's now helping you in the kitchen.. baka maging chef sya someday. :)

JO said...

Hi Verns,
Naku, I have to bribe my son too to finish his homework... hehehe

Hi Francesca,
Punta ka dito and I'll ask my son to make mashed potato again just for you.

Hi Christine,
Thanks! But I don't think he will be a chef, medyo takot yan sa apoy eh.

Nagluto ulit si Patrick ng mashed potatoes... wala pa din akong blender eh, so he hasn't tried the mini cheesecake.
