Tag #20: Behind the Decision

I got tagged by Rachel for this meme which originated from Thesserie.

Instruction:

  • Please share the reason/s why you decided to do ads/paid posts. State how your earning is helping you in any way.
  • Pass it to 2 bloggers/publishers only.
  • After my name, list ALL your monetized blogs. If you have more than one blog, add the next blogs by using numbers only (such as 1, 2, 3, see my example) instead of long links.
  • Use the button but please no direct linking.
  • I would really appreciate it if you could drop me a line should you decide to entertain this tag. I would like to pay you a visit and add you on my list.

Early this year, I started seeing blog ads and entries on some of the regular blogs that I read. And honestly, at first, it turned me off. I try to skip their blogs when I sensed that its paid blogging. But I still read their regular entries as most of you can see when I leave my comments.

But during an EB with Liz and Rach, Liz started sharing her blogging opportunities and income. She points us to the right direction to start. And Rach and I decided to give it a try.

As soon as I got back to Canada, I registered to PPP and Smorty but was still hesitant to do blog ads. I started my first post on September 4. And in my first month I made USD $74. For the month of October I made USD $122. I am really picky on the ads that I want to write about. I know I can make more than these, but I just don't want my blog to become too commercialized! And I don't want to lose my readers with so much paid ads on my blog.

Thank you to paid blogging, I can now afford to buy a replacement for my recent accident with my cell phone.

I am tagging proud publishers' Ghee and Bless.

Hello Jo! Thank you for entertaining this tag and leaving me a message, I will add your url on my list.

So far I've read that most of us were shy in the beginning to take those assignments and worried of tainting our blog contents, which I agree...we shouldn't lose the primary reason why we blog...that earning from it is just a plus.

best regards from Holland, and I will visit you again. Take care!

Thanks Jo for taking time to do this meme. I missed your post about the cellphone accident. Just read it now. Sorry about your phone and I'm glad that you can easily replace it using earnings from sponsored blogging.

Kainis lang kung kelan pa ako may $ earnings, bumaba pa ang $ dito.

Anyway, keep it up and hope we get more blogging opportunities. Take care!

Hi Thess,
Welcome to my blog!

Hi Rach,
You might just want to keep your earnings in your paypal account until you have enough to buy a laptop instead of an LCD monitor.

Hi Raquel,
I think I've lost some readers already since I started this. But yes, it is a good sideline... And as I mentioned above, I could be earning more if I choose to.

it gets addicting, sad ako if i don't get opportunities ^_^

at first fear ko din yung mawalan ng readers, pero halos lahat naman is into getting paid to blog, well at least in my blogroll.

if it makes you feel good, and it helps the bottomline...ok na rin di ba? i love how you inject personal blogging into your paid posts...id pay you more than what the advertisers will be paying for all your efforts, ang galing eh....walang sablay.

hi jo! i agree with junnie...unlike other bloggers getting paid, your blog entries haven't lost their personal touch. :)

Hi Girlie and Ghee,
I know there's so many opportunities, but I think I want to stick to the topics that I can relate to.

Hi Junnie,
Thanks! A little extra cash always helps!

Hi Denden,
Thanks! I'm glad that you are still here.

Hey I've joined the bandwagon too. I started a new blog. i had no idea PPP requires you to have a blog 90 days old before they approve you or I would never even have started. Now that I have, I'm glad. The other blog is a mommy blog and I can rant all I want about motherhood. heheh.

$122/mo? Wow, that isn't anything to laugh at.

gee, i didn't know that they pay that much. now i am tempted.

Hi Tintin,
You definitely made the right decision and I'm sure you will be successful at this too. Goodluck!

Hi Evi,
I could be earning more if I only grab all the opportunities available to me.
