My Goal and My Birthday

My ultimate goal is to sponsor a child through World Vision. It is going to be a long-term commitment and I am still preparing myself for that one. So for the meantime, I decided to make a small donations to the following charitable organizations. I mailed my donation checks last week to --

Since I can't afford to devote my time like Junnie's commitment to Gawad Kalinga, this is the least that I can do for now.

This is a yearly tradition that I have set up for myself. Every year, on my birthday, I will be making donations as much as I could afford. Care to join me?

Such a noble practice got here. I have dedicated myself to donate 10% of my blogging income each month. I did my first donation last month to our local orphan house (I couldn't find Serena's payment details, and it is too late to save her)...

It is a good list of donation sites.

To give is to receive...and you certaily will receive a thousand fold of graces on your way.

What a great way to share and celebrate your birthday!

Hi Atniz,
Thanks! I think I should do that too.

Hi Susan,
Thanks! And welcome back to blogging!

Hi Sasha,

Hi Leah,
I believe I have been blessed in so many ways, especially the past 2 years. This is just payback time.

i also thought of sponsoring a child through world vision but like you said, it's a commitment unlike giving to charities when you got the extra money or in your case, once in a year on your birthday. this is great, jo. instead of getting what you want on your birthday, you give to the needy. you're an inspiration!

Very generous of you, Jo. I hope a lot of people will follow suit. I donate to a chosen charity every year during my birthday. It feels good doing a great thing even if the efforts are just small.

happy weekend!

Jo, thank you for your donation and thank you for the plug...and the link. What a nice gesture on your birthday.

We just came back from Marinduque last'd be happy to know that the village is really happy to see visitors from Canada.

It is a Canadian village and they really were so hospitable, smiles left and right...and the village is so green now. Wish you could visit.

There are kids also needing sponsorships at $ 1 a day to go to school with all their needs paid for.

Hi Evi,
Thanks! I hope we both could sponsor a child someday...

Hi Tani, Raquel and MyePinoy,

Hi Liz,
You are more generous coz given your financial status, you still give.

Hi Junnie,
That is the least that I can do for you and your cause!
