L.A. here I come

I am so excited. I am going to Los Angeles and Las Vegas for the long weekend! Hubby is already in LA for a one-week conference and I'm joining him on Friday.

I am so thankful for a family friend who volunteered to look after my kids for 4 days. This is actually the first time that we're leaving the kids with a non-relative since we moved to Canada in 2001. So please don't make me feel guilty about leaving them. It is hard as it is.

My son is actually not too happy that his dad and I will be both gone at the same time. And I thought he would he happy since he can basically get away with anything during those 4 days! But he's not. You should see his face when I was asking their permission to leave. He was truly sad.

On the other hand, my daughter is just too happy to be left behind. She almost cried when we drop off her daddy at the airport last Sunday, but she is really looking forward to this weekend. It's freedom day for them.

Both of them is having their provincial achievement test this week and so this is a perfect weekend getaway for me too since they will not have any homework to do.

The last time I was in LA and Las Vegas was in 1993. Last time hubby was in LA was in 1986 and he has never been to Las Vegas. So you can see our excitement here. I just wish I will have enough time to see as much as I could in LA and not get stuck in traffic.
