Thursday Thirteen #54: It's a small world

It's a world of laughter, a world of tears... it's a world of hopes, it's a world of fear... there's so much that we share... that it's time we're aware... it's a small world after all.

It's a small world after all... it's a small world after all... it's a small world after all... it's a small, small world.

There is just one moon and one golden sun... and a smile means friendship to everyone... Though the mountains divide... and the oceans are wide... It's a small small world.

It's a small world after all... it's a small world after all... it's a small world after all... it's a small, small world.
I love this song. I grew up singing this song. And even though I'm no longer a kid, I still love this song. For this week's T13, I'm sharing 13 pictures that I've taken during the "It's a small world" ride @ Disney's Magic Kingdom in Orlando, Florida.

The first time I went to Magic Kingdom [in 1993], I only had a film camera, I used 1 roll of film and nothing came out... the second time [in 2004] I went there, I had the point and shoot digital camera, still due to the darkness, none of them came out any good. This is my 3rd time [in 2009] and I had with me my Nikon D40 SLR and here's the result. It pays to have a really good camera in recording wonderful memories!

Weekend Snapshot #10: Drumheller

Horseshoe Canyon

Hoodoos

Here are some old pictures from our first trip there last March 2008.

Another visit, another possible trip?

My mother-in-law is planning on another visit here and to my sister-in-law in New York City this October-November. My kids are very excited as usual. But since she only plan to stay here for less than 2 weeks and a month in New York, we thought that we could just save her the trip by meeting her in New York and see my sister-in-law and her family as well.

Last time we were in New York was in 2006, my kids really missed their cousins there. And I didn’t have my Nikon then, so I wanted to go back and take some cool photos of Time Square.

I checked the tickets for November and it’s about C$400 per person, round trip. But this also means that my kids will miss 3 days of school. We’ll see how it goes.

Though we’ve been there quite a few times already, we have never joined the New York City tours. One thing that my husband loves to do when we visit a city is to join the city tour. Because it is through the guide’s narrative that we can learn about the historical and famous places the city has. It does pays to have this information being narrated to you while sightseeing.

"ME" time

What do you love to do if you have your "me" time?

Now that tax season is over, I only have to work twice a week at the airport. Sometimes more if I decide to pick up shifts, but since summer is approaching and I don't have a sitter, I will be staying home with my kids.

Here's the things I love to do during my "me" time --

  • Get a full body massage [I have an appointment for Thursday]
  • Watch movies
  • Sleep in till noon time or close to noon time
  • Plan for a get together or out of town trip
  • Organize our pictures in photo albums [I just finished 3 albums in the last 2 weeks, this includes our pictures from the Philippines in June 2008]
  • Update my kids' journal... I have a journal for each of them. [I've recorded all their "firsts" and achievements/milestones and their likes and dislikes as they grow older. It also contains some pictures, the places they've been to and the friends they've made along the way.]
  • and the most important of it all, is to have peace and quiet at home, alone.
