Memoir Monday: The Money Matter

Wifespeaks Back in the Philippines, we both have our own separate accounts and savings and assigned bills to pay. We never had a joint account. Bills are divided according to our income. Of course, my husband pays more bills than I do.

But when we moved to Canada and I became a stay-home mom, we decided to open a joint account and I handle all the budgeting and finances.

Now that I am working, we maintained our joint account and we also have our own separate accounts. I still manage and handle all budgeting and finances. This way I always knew if we got some extra cash to spare for other luxury like my recent, unplanned trip to Los Angeles and Las Vegas. ",)

I have manage to keep my family debt free! That is debt free from credit cards and store cards. I always make sure that I pay our credit card bills in full every cycle. We do not have an active line of credit either. Our only debts are mortgage and two cars.

I always believe that one has to learn how to live within their own means. Do not over spent, always be practical and always in control.

great job, jo! kami naman, i let hubby handle the management of our finances kasi, if he leaves it up to me, for sure gumagapang na kami sa lusak ngayon. :D between us, he's the logical choice to be the money-ger kasi he's more responsible and more conscientious about our spending. :)
