She's lovely. The question is: Teach them traditional checkbook balance or just log them into online banking? :)

How exciting! Money management can be so hard - yet, when done right, so rewarding!

I can see how excited she is. It's nice that you teach her to save a a young age. Happy WW!

Did she read the contract properly? :)

It is always good to start young.

Thank you all for visiting.

This is a long overdue bank account that I promised her. It's only a savings account, so she can't make any withdrawals at all. But nevertheless, she's very happy to have her own bank card.

WOW what a great idea! How old is she? We have a 9 year old son....considering this for him.

This is a great idea. H & I have been wondering when the best age to open a bank account for a child is. We definitely want Timmy to have his own. Financial consciousness at an early age is good!

Awesome! Our kids each have a savings account that we opened for them when they turned 1. Your daughter looks so proud!

Thanks for your comment on my blog. :)

Hi Nikowa,
She's 9. I'm sure your son will be excited to have his own bank account.

Hi Toni,
I think Patricia's age [9] is a perfect age to start a savings account for her. She is already aware of how much is in her bank account and will be encourage to save for the future and spent as little as possible.

To everybody else -- thanks!
