My adorable kids

Picture taken in December 2005, Toronto

This is one of my favorite pictures of my kids... I just love it when they are sweet and loving to one another.

My son actually doesn't want me to share this picture with anyone... he claims "its embarrasing." To me, it was a sweet gesture and I love to share it!

I'm planning to delete my scrapping blog since I don't really have the time to scrap anymore... so I just thought I'd re-post some of my favorite scraps here.

Cable ties

In this age of electronics, one just has to have too much wiring around the house. And you really need to hide them so that nobody will trip over it, especially if you have kids and hurt themselves. And even those who travel with their laptops or DSLR cameras, there's too many wiring too. So my husband bought some cable ties to solve our wiring problems.

Have you ever shop at ReidSupply.com? They've got some really good stuff for industrial hand wheels to assist you in adjusting a variety of machine functions. And these hand wheels can also be used as handle. They also have a free CAD library to help you find their free CAD drawings in several methods throughout the site. So go check them out if these are in your field of work.

Continuing education

I never thought I'd go back to school. But because of this "hobby" of mine, I decided to go back to school to acquire sufficient knowledge on how to use and maximize my DSLR. And after 6 weeks of lecture, I am now more knowledgeable with aperture, shutter speed, metering, bracketing, white balance... and much more. I tried self-studying at first, but it's just not getting me anywhere.

But if you are one of those people who can self-study with good time management, and you want to acquire a university or even master's degree, you might want to try taking courses with an online university like Western Governors University. They are a non-profit online university offering you a convenient, flexible education online specifically designed for working adults like you and me.

Photography class

Whew! My basic photography class is almost over. This Wednesday will be the exam day and that's it. This basic class is a prerequisite for all the other photography classes that I wanted to enroll. The class is definitely very informative with too much information to digest. I still get confused sometimes, but I'm learning how to shoot in manual mode.

My next class will be about "Scenic and Wildlife" photography [Nov to Dec]. After that I will be taking up "Intermediate Photography" and "Wedding Photography" in January. Each class is 6 weeks long.

To get a certificate on photography, I have to take at least 8 courses. Still have a long way to go...

On car maintenance

My husband can only trust the dealers for all his maintenance and car parts. He wouldn't even attempt to try those car garages even though they could be cheaper. I don't know anything about cars, except how to drive. So I have to trust him on this one.

But for those who owns some really old cars, buying parts could be a headache, sometimes. Well, look no further. Just simply visit CarPartsWarehouse.com and you will find parts from all makes and models, new and old. They can also look for replacement parts on your behalf. Shop at the convenience of your own home.

Isn't it Ironic?

"We ignore those who adores us... adore those who ignore us...
Love those who hurt us... and hurt those who love us!"

Human nature? Ironic indeed!

In denial

My friend just asked me to put her pictures in an album. So we did some scrapping today. She got some of our group pictures from 2 years back and we both realized that we've gained a lot of weight since then. I guess we were both in denial since most of our old clothes still fit. She did try some appetite suppressants for a couple of weeks. We still have yet to find out if it's effective.

Acne problems?

Are you having some acne problems? Are you in need of some acne treatments? Well, look no further. My friend's daughter just solved her acne problems by using Acnexus™. It is an all natural acne treatment that clears up the worst cases of acne in teenagers and adults. It exfoliates, penetrates, and hydrates with one pump. It is more affordable than going to the dermatologist week after week for treatment.

Wordless Wednesday: Roses

Just celebrated our 14th year anniversary. And these roses came from my loving hubby.

In need of new bikes

My kids are in need of new bikes for next summer. So I decided to find some good deals right now and buy them new ones while it's on sale rather than wait for next summer to come. I found a perfect one for my daughter only to find out that the site that I was looking at were selling beach bikes. I guess this is just a name, right?

I know my son would love those speed/cruiser bikes. But I'm not sure if I should get one for my daughter. It is very pricey and based on past experience, the most that their bikes last were 2 summers only.

Replacing water filters

My kids are truly enjoying our new side-by-side refrigerator because it dispenses cold water and make ice.

My son has been complaining that our water taste funny now. So hubby went out to buy the refrigerator water filters weeks ago. The problem is we don't know how to replace it. We tried following the instructions on the cap, but we can't seem to make it work. Help anyone?

Wordless Wednesday: 50th birthday cake

I went to a party a couple of months ago, and this cake was made by the wife to the husband who was celebrating his 50th birthday.

Everything you see in the cake, except for the candles, are edible! Isn't it cool? And it taste really good too!

3-tiered Diaper Cake

Today, we decided to throw a surprised baby shower to a friend of ours. It's her 3rd baby, but ever since I saw this diaper cake in several blogs, my hands has been itching to make one. So I decided to make one for her, hence the baby shower.

First, gather up all the materials that you will need -- at least 70 pieces of medium diapers, ribbons, baby bottles, toys, spoons, bibs, mittens and socks... and whatever you may think of...

Then, start rolling up the diapers... this part takes time...

Start decorating...

Move things around...

And here's the final outcome. I was able to convince my friend to show her tummy while we were at the park 2 weeks ago, and I'm sure she will treasure this picture which I decided to add to her diaper cake.

Chat online

Living abroad and away from your family, relatives and friends, it is very, very important to keep the communication line open. Especially on times when Ondoy hit the Philippines. We wanted to make sure that our love ones are safe and alive.

There are numerous chat software that are available on the web. There are tons of way to get connected online. It's just a matter of finding our which one will work best for you and your love ones.
