Patricia's first sleepover and Patrick's first commute

My daughter's best friend in school had two sleep over at our place. This was last year. They had so much fun doing all sort of things, all night long.

Her best friend, since then, has been inviting Patricia to sleep over at their place. But I had manage to delay it for as long as I could, always thinking of an excuse.

I guess Patricia decided to take the matters into her own hands and told her best friend's mom that she can sleep over one Friday. [This was 2 Fridays ago]. And I was just surprised to receive a message from the mom. So I had to let her do it.

That same day, for the very first time, I decided to let Patrick commute all the way home. I would normally pick him up at the bus station. But since Patricia will be going home with her best friend, I thought it would be a perfect day to let Patrick try to commute all the way home. He had to wait for about 15 minutes for his connecting bus, and then he had to walk about 3 blocks to get home. I kept on calling him on his cell every 15 minutes. He made it home but he said he was very tired from the long walk.

Time flies... I can't believe how much they've grown.

My goal

My goal is 120... and I have done 38... I still have 82 to go... where can I get those 82???

If I reached my 120 goal, then it will be a sign for me to do something this coming June...

Manila or Toronto?

My favorite cousin is getting married in June in Boracay. I wanted to go home and see him get married, but because it is in June, I can't decide whether to pull out my kids from school or not attend at all. It will be hard to pull out Patrick since he is in Junior high and the wedding will be on their exam week. I still have yet to ask permission from the school.

If not, I've been wanting to visit my friends in Toronto. And right now, I saw some really good deals on Toronto hotels.

I can't afford both trips. Toronto will definitely be cheaper for us... but the wedding also means family reunion and I really wanted to be there.

I guess I will just to wait and see if I can find cheap airfare to Manila, if not, then Toronto it is.

Wordless Wednesday: Skiing and Snowboarding

Fun time at Calgary Olympic Park! It's my 3rd time and my daughter's 2nd time @ skiing... and my son's first try @ snowboarding.

I will survive

"Life is like riding a bicycle. You don't fall off unless you plan to stop peddling." ~ Claude Pepper

I consider myself as a survivor. I know there are lots of people who went through a more difficult and challenging life than I do. But with all that I've been through, and knowing where I stand right now, I am thankful to God that He didn't give me anything that I couldn't handle. And I believe that whatever He gives me, as long as I don't stop peddling, I will be able to handle it in my own way. Are you a survivor?

Laptops and warranty

When we first bought our desktop, we included a 4-year extended warranty. And even though I was able to take advantage of what I paid for, I still believe that extended warranty is just a big rip off.

So when I bought my laptop, I didn't get any extended warranty. Right now, I'm regretting not getting extended warranty because this laptop of mine seems to be having so much problems and it is just 1.5 years old.

I ask my husband to find me some really good laptop deals as I want a new one!
