Manila's hectic schedule

Sad to say, I didn't really have enough time to go shopping while in the Philippines. This is basically our schedule there...

  • 1st 3 days where spent in Manila with family! Had a couple of hours of shopping time.
  • Next 5 days were spent in Boracay. The purpose of our visit is to witness my favorite cousin's nuptial. And more family reunion.
  • Another 2 days in Manila to meet some friends.
  • Next 2 days in Tagaytay with my cousins and their family! My son swam with the dolphins!
  • The following 2 days in Subic with hubby's family.
  • The next 3 days in Cebu so my kids will get to see and meet their 98-year old great-grandma for the very first time. Unfortunately.
  • And then another half day in Manila for packing...
  • And it's back to hubby's arm!

Now that we are back from our vacation, it's time to do some spring/summer cleaning. I started with cleaning the fan, my daughter's closet and the shoe rack. My kids had to got rid of a lot of their slippers, old and worn out shoes and even their snow boots. So tomorrow, we're going shopping for some shoes.

Next is to clean out my son's closet! This is going to be a challenge! Hahaha...

Home, sweet home!

We're back! We arrived last Thursday night... and still adjusting to the time difference. Hubby ordered some take out that lasted till lunch today.

Happy, happy birthday to the best husband and the best dad and to my best friend! Cheers to more birthdays to come... We love you very, very much!

And to celebrate, we're off to watch "Karate Kid" and "The A-Team". We hardly go to the theaters, but this is an exception.

Sunday, it's back to work for me! Arrrgghh....

This is when the saying "I need a vacation after my vacation!" applies. So tired!

Big 30 Pizza and Pasta

If you love pizza and pasta, you should try Big 30. It is located in Paseo de Sta Rosa, Laguna, Philippines. It's yummy! And the price is reasonable. For a 30 inch pizza, it only costs less than PHP 1,100! Truly a value for money.

So if you want to get away from the city, a road trip to Sta Rosa for lunch or dinner would be perfect. Or if you are on your way to Tagaytay, this would be the perfect side trip for you and your family or friends.

The huge 30" pizza! and huge chicken pieces too...

Pastas are just as perfect as the pizza!

And the drink is superb! It is sure to satisfy your thirst.
We had the green tea and red ice tea.

This Italian restaurant opened 2 years ago... and so far this is the only branch. But it is worth the trip!

Family Reunion

Sand Castles in Boracay

We arrived in Boracay Thursday night, and only the soon-to-be-married couple were here to meet us. Yesterday afternoon, my cousins from Cebu arrived at lunch time... and then 3 more families arrived at night.

The parents of the groom and his sister and family from Taiwan arrived this morning. It was a great reunion and most of them don't even know that I am going to be here.

Everybody's a year older and we were kidding one another that we need to start using wrinkle filler to look younger because our kids are almost as tall as we are! ",)

Wordless: Boracay

Boracay, here we come!

We are leaving for Boracay in 6 hours! I am so excited to see my cousins who I haven't seen in years! And it's going to my first time to attend a beach wedding!

I was feeling a little sick yesterday, today is much better. I just hope that I don't get sick while in Bora.

Pictures to follow!

We arrived Sunday evening... and unfortunately, internet access is limited! I can't get the signal from our unit. And I can only do it at the pool area!

Day 1 were spent at the mall! Bought most of the necessities in my shopping list! Did quite a lot of driving. And my son's initial reaction was "For the people, you cross at your own risk. For cars, you need to squeeze through to get through!" And in the evening, it was dinner with the family and got tons of pictures of the kiddos.

Currently waiting at Vancouver airport for our connecting flight to Tokyo. Plane leaves in 40 minutes from this posting... :-)

Manila, I'm coming home

We are leaving in a few hours to go home! Just me and the kids. My kids are really looking forward to it... Despite the heat and mosquitoes, which they still remember from our trip in 2008, they are still excited and can't wait to see their grandparents and cousins.

Maraming beses na kitang nilayasan
Iniwanan at iba ang pinuntahan
Parang babaeng mahirap talagang malimutan
Ikaw lamang ang aking laging binabalikan

Manila, Manila
I keep coming back to Manila
Simply no place like Manila
Manila, I'm coming home

I walked the streets of San Francisco
I've tried rhe rides in Disneyland
Dated a million girls in Sydney
Somehow I feel like I don't belong

Hinahanap-hanap kita Manila
Ang ingay mong kay sarap sa tenga
Mga jeepney mong nagliliparan
Mga babae mong naggagandahan
Take me back in your arms Manila
And promise me you'll never let go
Promise me you'll never let go

Manila, Manila
Miss you like hell, Manila
No place in the world like Manila
I'm coming here to stay
