RV

My husband and I love to drive around and discover new places. And we dream of owning an RV someday so we can drive from coast to coast and take extended vacation. Or maybe we could just rent one for 1-2 weeks and see where it would take us.

Anyway, a friend of mine is selling their RV because they wanted a bigger one. They don't use their RV to drive from coast to coast, but they use it mainly for camping. RV repair is needed though before they can put it up on sale. Anybody interested?

The Psychological Effect of Growing Old

I have a healthy life so to speak. I don't usually get sick.

Finding a family doctor in Canada can be pretty hard. I was lucky to find one easily when we first migrated. But when we decided to relocate to another province, I couldn't get one until 4 months ago. As I said it wasn't much of a problem having no family doctor since none of us has any recurring illness. The only problem is that we couldn't get any physical exam done during the last 3 years.

So now that we've got a family doctor the first thing that I requested is a physical exam for all of us. When I was having my one-on-one interview with the doctor, it came out that my BP is a bit high. And when she did it again, it went much higher. I feel like I was really relaxed at that time, but obviously my BP doesn't agree with me. That was last week.

Today, I had my urine and blood test and also mammogram. My very first mammogram ever, and it hurts a lot! And as soon as I got home, I felt tired and fell asleep. My dream feels so real at that time! It scares the hell out of me! Included in my dream was an individual dress in black cloak holding something in the hands and I was in a dark room with all doors that opens to nothing. And I keep saying "I don't want to die yet"... and then my alarm went off and it was time for me to pick up my son from the bus stop.

Not knowing what the outcome of my mammogram, pap test, blood and urine tests are, I'm already waiting in anticipation. And it scares me even in my sleep.

Thursday Thirteen: More Facebook Status

Last week it was a list of funny statuses... this week's about some life lessons...

Just some random wall status that you can put on your Facebook
  1. Make sure that when you give your heart away, it's to someone who had hands strong enough to hold it forever yet gentle enough to hold it without breaking it.
  2. Trust is like a mirror - once its broken, its never seen the same again and no matter how hard you try to put it back together, the cracks will always show.
  3. The greatest mistake in the world is to pretend to be someone you're not in order to please someone else. Have the courage to be yourself, no matter what.
  4. Sing your hear out. Dance in the rain. Cherish the memories. Ignore the pain. Love and learn. Forget and forgive because remember you only have 1 life to live.
  5. FOUR things you can't recover: The stone... after the throw. The word... after it's said. The occasion... after it's missed. The time... after it's gone.
  6. Whether you care to admit it or not, every person that passes through your life changes you in some way, or teaches you something... one day you will know.
  7. Be more concerned with your character than your reputation. Your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what other thinks you are.
  8. Laughter is timeless. Imagination has no age. And dreams are forever.
  9. I guess the reason we cherish memories so much is because they're the only things in life that can never change.
  10. Smile until it hurts, laugh until you cry, love like you never have been broken, pray with faith, live in the moment, remember the good times, let go of the bad.
  11. I'm NOT Stubborn. I'm determined. There's a difference.
  12. Don't put your self esteem in the hands of others. Know who you are and let your light shine regardless of the opinions of others.
  13. Did you ever realize that good friends are hard to find, that is because all the BEST ones are already mine!

LIFE

"...is like a taxi. The meter just keeps a-ticking whether you are getting somewhere or just standing still."
~ Lou Erickson ~

On continuous learning

I am done with 4 courses of my photography class. I still need to take 4 more courses if I want to get the Certificate, but that will have to wait till the end of tax season. My initial intention for taking the courses is to be more knowledgeable about photography, learn to take better pictures, learn exposure and posing postures and maximize the use of my DLSR. But it was already too much information for me to process and I need to practice and practice what I learn to become a good photographer.

Continuous learning is very essential in Canada and USA. People are always looking to change their career and hoping to find better jobs and better pay in the future. Here is an example of in demand course right now, the HIT degree [Health Information Technology Online Associate Degree]. Do check it out.

Northwestern College offers three associate¹s degree (AAS) programs online: [1] Business Administration, [2] Criminal Justice and [3] Health Information Technology. NC are Regionally Accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, and
are a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

Tax season

Tax season is here and I will be very busy again for the next few weeks. This is my 6th year at doing taxes and every tax season, I noticed that I lose weight. I eat at odd hours, lack of sleep with double job, and then combine it with family responsibilities... yes, definitely it's a time to lose some unwanted pounds. I just wish that I could keep it off for the rest of the year.

Anyway, is there really such a thing as a diet plans that work? Check out that link and find out for yourself. I know I wouldn't need that till the end of tax season.

Have you been sleeping well?

When I was a stay at home mom, I used to have a hard time sleeping. It got to the point where I started searching and asking around for the best sleeping pills.

But then, I started working, and with the odd hours of my work, I don't have that problem anymore. Sleep seems to come to me faster than before. I wish I could be like my husband though, who can sleep anywhere, anytime, and in any position, all he need to do is close his eyes.

Info on Glucomannan

Glucomannan is a dietary fiber derived from the Konjac plant of South East Asia. It is good for weight loss, constipation, high cholesterol, acne, and type 2 diabetes. All you need is to take 1g of glucomannan combined with 8 oz of water an hour before every meal.

This amazing fiber supplement can be found in Somnaslim and Lipo CB-7.

Info: Mesothelioma

Mesothelioma. A rare form of cancer that develops in the mesothelial cells. These cells are tissue that surround or line the lungs, heart, and stomach. The mesothelial cells protect these organs by producing a lubricating fluid that allows these organs to move smoothly.

That's the diagnosis for my neighbor. I believe he is in his early 50s. He was already in the advanced stages of the Mesothelioma cancer and they only found out about it a week ago.

Medical information are now widely available on the internet. It is now very easy to do research on different types of diseases, cancer, and its different type of treatment options. Let yourself be informed!

Hoping for acne free

As a growing teen, I never had problems with acne. And even as an adult, that has never been my problem. Thank God for that.

My son is 13 and I already saw a couple of acne on his face on 2 separate occasion. I just hope that he won't have serious acne problems that will need acne treatments in the future.

Hair problems...

Everyday, for as long as I could remember, whenever I shampoo or comb my hair, I always see strands of my hair all over the tub or counter top or even on the floor. Sometimes I wonder why I still have hair despite all that. And sometimes I wonder if I should use special hair loss shampoo to avoid getting bald. What do you think?

Netbook

My husband is so happy with the netbooks. He bought an HP one for the kids last year. It's very light and small and perfect for the kids. And best of all, it's cheaper than the regular laptops!

If you don't need a really huge hard drive, and you just want to be able to surf the net while on the road, then you might want to look at netbooks.
