I rely on my husband on all my car needs and maintenance. I honestly don't know anything about cars, all I know is how to drive. I am even poor at direction and can barely identify my north, south, east and west.

So when I got a letter from my car dealer that there might be a manufacturer's problem with the timing belt and water pump, I panic. It was the first time that I brought my car to the dealer to have it looked at. Took them about 3 hours. They had to replace my water pump, for free, and that was it.

Speaking of cars, my friend recently bought a second hand Ford escort. She loved it! And even my husband, after driving it and who is not a fan of Ford, loved it.

It's here to stay

This blog is closing in on it's 6th year this November! I can't believe how far this blog have reached and how much $$$ it made from blogging. Sad to say though, I've lost some readers when I started pro-blogging. And then more readers when they became my friends at Facebook.

Still, this blog is here to stay.

Roses are red

Another year older, another year wiser. Am I? My friends gave me these roses. And I loved it! I am always happy to received flowers on any occasion.

Laptop dilemna

Three months ago I was really frustrated with my laptop. First, it was the plug, it keeps on making some awful ticking... and then the battery keeps on dying on me, even though I just charged it. And then there's the problem with the built-in speaker.

I bought a new plug and battery. Hubby cleaned up my laptop, and somehow my built-in speaker is working again. I guess my laptop needs extra care if I want it to last longer.

The stork has arrived

A co-worker of mine just gave birth prematurely to a baby boy 4 days ago. Congrats to the proud parents, R and A. Even though the baby is still in the hospital, he is doing well.

Her prenatal vitamins helped her make sure that her baby stayed strong despite being born prematurely. I know that I took a couple of prenatal vitamins too during my pregnancy.

Disaster hits again

Insurance of any kind, is very, very important. Another typhoon hit the Philippines, and the condo of my MIL was damaged. Somebody forgot to close the window and the strong winds tore up the ceiling. It was a disaster. They don't know how much it's going to cost to repair this, but for now, her rental income is gone for the time being.

And I would advice people to get your own life insurance quote and coverage if you don't have one yet.

We all know how important it is to take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) as part of the admission process in law school. It provides a standard measure of acquired reading and verbal reasoning skills that law schools can use as one of several factors in assessing applicants.

LSAT prep courses are now available on a trial basis on the internet. And the more you practice, the better you will be.

Balance Diet

On my verge of losing weight and cutting down on food, I have to replace it with a daily multivitamin to help me keep my diet in balance.

When I first found out about possibly being a diabetic, I panic. My kids are still young and they still need me. That is enough will power for me to try to lose as much weight as I could. Lord, please help me.

On losing weight

I've heard of many weight loss stories and some are just too good to be true. I was advised by my doctor to lose at least 20 pounds if I want to stay healthy.

I've cut down on my sodas and rice intake. And last weekend, I tried badminton. I believe that diet and exercise is the key to losing weight. I know it will take time, but the result should be more rewarding in the end.

Updates

We just had a shift bid last month, and instead of working 2 days with 10 hour shift, I am now stuck with 3 days and an 8 hour shift. The good news is I have weekends off! So we get to really enjoy the summer weekends and not have to worry about work.

It is getting crazier at work. People are getting fired or suspended, and management is not even protecting it's own employees. :-( And worst, we are being used and treated like garbage. If not for the benefits, I would have left months ago.

I was on holiday for 3 weeks, and upon returning to work, so much have changed [again]! I am so affected by work lately that it is no longer "fun", and I hate the thought of going to work. We were being watch like criminals and our attention were being called for the tiniest things that don't really matter.

I'm hoping that I would be able to find a different, less stressful job by September. Right now, I just want to enjoy our short summer!

Eczema attack

While on vacation in the Philippines, my son had allergy reaction to the dust and pollution. His eyes were always itchy and red. The airline almost stop us from flying because the agent thought it was sore eyes. The agent also notice that his skin is a bit red and too dry, and I just explained that he has eczema, and that it is not contagious. I was really worried that we might missed our flight. Summer Fun!

We got so many things we wanted to do this summer... and yet so limited budget and time. Hmmmmm... We need to enjoy the summer without really spending a lot.

West Edmonton Mall

Yesterday, being Canada Day, we went on a road trip to Edmonton. It's about 2 hours and 45 minutes drive.

The highlight of our trip was getting aboard Santa Maria [pirate ship], playing mini-golf and bowling! In bowling, overall I got the highest score, followed by my son, then my husband and my daughter.

Summer activities!

We got the season pass for Calaway Park this summer. One day pass costs the same as the season pass, so we took advantage of the season pass. We plan to go today, but the rain forecast ruin my kids' excitement. Oh well, there will be more opportunity later on.

Yesterday, while at West Edmonton Mall, we decided to get the 3-month season pass too to all the parks at the mall - it includes the rides, waterpark, bowling and billards, mini golf, deep sea derby and access to sea lion shows. It was really a good deal too. We just need to make the trip to Edmonton every chance we got! And this only means more road trip!

10 years younger

I got a new haircut! My hair is the shortest it has been in a decade! And people are saying that it suits me and that I look 10 years younger. Some people are even asking me if I use collagen face cream because they say that even my skin look younger. Oh my, I just love hearing those flattering words. But the answer is no, I don't put anything on my face except vaseline when it is really dry. I believe that it's the effect of the haircut only. ",)
