Downtown

Believe it or not, we've been in this city for 4 years already and this is the very first time that I was able to walk around downtown. I mean I go there quite a few times already, but I was always just driving by or attend some business.

This day though, despite the cold weather, I decided it's high time I walk around the block and take some photos...

Age 14

My son is excited to get his learner's permit on his upcoming 14th birthday. He is busy studying the driver’s manual now. He said that most of his classmates are going to try to get their learner's permit on their birthday. He and my daughter has been fighting over who will get their dad's car already! Hahaha...

Soon, he may want to look for jobs during the summer. Oh boy, stop growing up too fast...

Our log house

Well, it is not actually "our" log house. It's my in-laws' log house. They are very proud of this investment of theirs and it had had many guests already, both locally and friends from abroad. The view from the log house is spectacular too.

My in-laws dream is to buy some cabin beds, dressers and night stand to make it the "ultimate" log house.

Baby shower

I love planning for a baby shower. I just love to shop for new baby gifts. Everything is so cute and so tiny! I especially like those personalized keepsake kit and storybook. The one thing that I regret not having for my own kids are the hand/foot print in canvas that I can put up in their room. All I have is the print that the hospital had put on in their birth certificate. I wonder, maybe I should just have those framed.

Slowly but surely

Everybody's been commenting on how much I have loss weight already. And though I don't really feel it, I'm happy that the weight loss program that I've chosen is working for me!

I've been doing a lot of Zumba [a latin, cardio dancing exercise] and some hip hop/disco dancing. I've also tried cycling and treadmill at the gym. But I had more fun doing the dance classes. There are days when I would work out an hour in the morning and another hour at night. I just hope I won't feel lazy going to the gym when winter starts to kick in.

Keeping fit

Other than having to lose a lot of weight to keep me off medication, I was told that I needed to take the best calcium supplement too. And the number 1 choice is Oxycollasyn or Lifessence Joint+.

I already cut down on my food intake and we eat more fish dishes than before. So dieting is really not a problem for me. But I do need to take some calcium supplement to help me with the sore that I feel around my lower back.

Congrats to Mommy Mandy

My co-worker is finally pregnant! She's been wanting to have a baby since she got married. And now, they are both bless with a baby.

She's very excited to see her baby's first ultrasound picture. She's even excited about taking some prenatal vitamins to make sure all things goes well. She's the only I know who looks forward to wearing maternity clothes at 10 weeks of being pregnant! I swear her tummy is already showing like she's 4 months pregnant already. She had gotten huge but glooming and prettier than ever.

Congratulations Mandy and Dulman! You're going to love being a parent soon.

HGH

Human Growth Hormone or HGH is a chemical that is produced in the pituitary gland in the brain. As we grow older, our bodies produce fewer amounts of this hormone. We produce about 500 mcg of HGH when we are in our 20’s, and it declines to 200 mcg in our 40’s and about 25mcg when we are 80. So how important is this HGH?

Human growth hormone product reviews shows lack of HGH gives a significant decline in health and stamina, low sex drive, easy to gain weight or difficulty in losing weight, and possible cardiovascular disease and some joint pains and a whole lot more. Health is wealth!

Wordless Wednesday

10-10-10

Just needed to post this on 10-10-10...

Happy thanksgiving to all Canadians!

My teenager

Sometimes I still couldn't believe that I have a teenager already. He is starting to mature, little by little. He is becoming conscious of his weight too. And his interest has moved on from gameboy games to more mature, more violent games. He had been dropping hint here and there that for his 14th birthday he wanted a PS3. He claims all his friends play PS3 only, none of them play Wii or DS anymore.

My answer to that, he should save his allowance as much as he could, and if he can come up with 70% of the price, then I will be happy to pay for the other 30%.

Vacation time

My husband is going home next month for a short visit to his parents. He was sad not to be able to go home with us last June because of a project he had at work. Now that his project is done, he can take some time off.

His dad is asking us to buy some montecristo cigars for his business colleagues. My father-in-law doesn't smoke anymore since his best friend died of lung cancer many years ago. I still haven't ordered these cigars online, I don't think it will fall within our limited budget. I mean, I don't mind buying things for the family, but not to business colleagues.

Cheers!

It's our 15th wedding anniversary today!!!

Happy Anniversary to my beloved husband!

Finally, I'm a member

I am finally a member of a fitness gym club! I was really hesitant to sign a two year contract, but overall, it is cheaper in the long run, and if ever I do need to cancel, it will still be cheaper than finishing a one year contract. Go figure.

Anyway, I'm really enjoying my time at the gym. In the 40 years of my existence, this is my first time to try out the gym. I usually attend the group exercise, it's more fun to have a small group of people to work out with. I especially liked Zumba [latin dance!]

I'm hoping that this would help me lose some weights. Doctor wanted me to lose 15 pounds by December. If not, then it might be time for me to click here and do more research.

Premiums

Be very careful when you shop around with the auto insurance companies. I just received our renewal advice, and our current insurance company added an "optional" coverage into our plan without even asking our consent. It's a good thing I am in the habit of reading contracts. No wonder they increased our premium by 25%!

So I started to shop around and found a policy that gives me a much lower premium than our existing one. And it got all the coverage that we need! And I did this just by doing some online quotes. Easy, fast and very convenient.

Things that makes me happy!

I just read a few articles in the Chicken Soup for the Soul, Count your Blessings edition. And it made me realized that we should try to write down one or two items that we are blessed with every single day. I started my kids on that...

  1. My Husband. He is the reason for my being! He made my dream come true!

  2. My kids. Though they sometimes drives me crazy, they are the love of my life! Every single hug and kiss, just takes away my bad day and all my troubles. I love when they make me home made cards for Mother's day, Valentine's, Christmas and Birthdays. And I kept them all.

  3. Friends. They keep be sane. We all need time away from our family, and I am so glad that I have a group of friend to hang out with.

  4. Photography and photo albums. I love taking pictures and even though I am not in it, it's okay. I'm just glad that I am able to take those photos.

  5. Tax Season. I wish tax season is a whole year job, coz this is one thing that I really love doing. I don't feel like it's a JOB at all. Despite the long hours during the peak of tax season, I don't really feel tire at all.

What's your blessings for today?
