The pain of a mother

One of my regular tax clients always comes in during the last week of tax season. This year though, she came on the very last day. During the interview process, I told her that she should not be bringing in her kids' taxes anymore. They should learn to bring it in themselves because they are over 20 years old. Then she started crying and opened up to me.

It was a very bad year for her and her family. Her son was in a mental ward for a period of time as a result of a car accident injury that happened 4 years ago. Her daughter, on the other hand, is going through therapy and is enrolled in drug treatment programs for overuse of drugs and alcohol.

I can see that my client is in so much pain. She's trying to hold on and keep her family together. Be strong M, God will not give you something that you can't handle.

As a mother, I can only pray that my kids would grow up to be good kids and be surrounded by people with good influence.
